Since 2010, DeVine has developed new capabilities to support Naval Research Laboratories (NRL) with forecasting, visualization, and climate modeling software. Our subject matter experts maintain high-performance computing systems that provide 24x7 support to warfighters and other agencies that require accurate and timely climatology stats to aid critical missions and exercises.
Currently, DeVine supports the Fleet Numerical Meteorology & Oceanography Center (FNMOC) in improving the tropical cyclone modeling, specifically storm tracking and the intensity determining, for the Joint Typhoon Warning Center and National Hurricane Center. DeVine is responsible for the transition and operationalization of the COAMPS-OS V 2.3 application software, providing tropical cyclone and atmospheric acoustic propagation forecasts. Software support activities include:
- Planning, installation, and quality control
- Model development
- Data input and output
- Configuration management
- Patch management
- Operational tests
- Identification, troubleshooting, and correction of COAMP-OS operational problems
